Authorised dealer banks (ADBs) play a central role in the trade system: they open Form M and other trade instruments and channel duty and levy payments in line with CBN and NCS requirements.
Banks should ensure customers complete Form M and related processes on the trade portal and that payments for customs purposes are remitted to the NCS in the correct manner, with correct references and amounts.
Provide importers and agents with clear procedures for FX, e-payment, and required attestations, and support timely processing so clearance is not unduly delayed by banking errors or omissions.
